Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

CRYSTAL PALACE V QPR

THE CRYSTAL PALACE manager, Steve Coppell, has his Chinese midfielder Fan Zhiyi, his local-born striker Leon McKenzie and his Australian midfielder Craig Foster all available again after injury. The Queen's Park Rangers manager, Gerry Francis, has injury worries over the striker Chris Kiwomya and midfielder Paul Murray for the short journey across London. Ludek Miklosko and Gavin Peacock are back in training but may only make it to the substitutes' bench.

NOTTM FOREST V HUDDERSFIELD

MIKKEL BECK will make his debut for Forest in the televised clash after arriving from Derby for a two-month loan spell. The Danish international has been out of favour with Jim Smith's side at Pride Park. The Huddersfield manager, Steve Bruce, has ruled out Simon Baldry and Ken Monkou, but expects Steve Jenkins to return at right-back in the only change to his line-up. George Donis (Achilles) and Barry Horne (hamstring) will have late fitness tests.

SHEFFIELD UTD V BOLTON

BLADES MANAGER Adrian Heath has held clear-the-air talks with his players as he tries to get their season back on track. Heath will be without suspended midfielder Jonathan Hunt, which could lead to a recall for Robert Kozluk at right-back as Shaun Derry moves into midfield. Loan signing Gareth Farrelly will make his debut for Bolton but Andy Todd has been suspended after a training ground incident which left assistant manager Phil Brown requiring medical treatment.

WEST BROM V PORTSMOUTH

ANDY TOWNSEND has missed the last four games for the Baggies and may now need surgery on his damaged knee. Jason van Blerk may replace Kevin Kilbane, on international duty with Ireland, and Richard Sneekes returns after a one-match suspension. Pompey manager Alan Ball has played down reports of a loan move for Southampton's Matt Le Tissier. The Scandinavians Thomas Thogersen and Tommy Berntsen are injured.
