Last night Tottenham issued a statement attempting to pre-empt a forthcoming World in Action programme which, it is understood, will include allegations about Ossie Ardiles's financial arrangements when he was a player at Tottenham. In the statement, Alan Sugar, the Tottenham chairman, said he believes information has been passed to the programme-makers by former club officials 'motivated by a sense of revenge'.
