The Swedish club AIK Stockholm have invited Coventry City to make a bid for their international goalkeeper, Magnus Hedman.

The Oxford United striker Paul Moody has joined Fulham for pounds 200,000.

The former Manchester City and German international goalkeeper Eike Immel has quit the game at the age of 36 because a persistent hip injury.

Chester City's manager, the former Welsh international Kevin Ratcliffe, has retired from playing.

Neil Webb, capped 26 times by England, is the new player-coach of the Dr Martens League side Weymouth.

The former Derby, Stoke, Doncaster and Mansfield midfielder George Antonio has died in hospital in Shrewsbury, aged 82. After a League career that began in 1935 and ended in 1950, Antonio became a coach in Shropshire and mid-Wales, where he continued playing well into his 50s.

Cameroon's coach, Henri Depireux, has quit in the middle of his team's campaign to qualify for next year's World Cup and African Nations' Cup finals.
