Your support makes all the difference.The Egyptian FA is ready to forgive the Tottenham striker Mido if he apologises for the lack of discipline that has seen him excluded from the national team since July. "We've no objections providing he apologises to the people of Egypt and the association," Essam Abdel-Moneim, the Egyptian FA's chairman, said.
l Leeds have agreed to sell their teenage striker Andy Keogh to Scunthorpe for an undisclosed fee. Keogh is expected to have a medical at Glanford Park today when he returns from duty with Republic of Ireland Under- 19.
l The midfielder Darryl Powell has joined Nottingham Forest. Powell, who spent seven years at Derby, has trained with the side on a casual basis after leaving the Major League Soccer club Colorado Rapids, but has now signed until the end of the season.
l Uefa announced yesterday that two Portuguese clubs will qualify automatically for the group stage of next season's Champions' League as a result of Porto's win in the competition last May.
l Terry Butcher and his Motherwell management team have signed new contracts with the club. Butcher, his assistant Maurice Malpas and the coach Chris McCart extended their current deals until 2008.
l Claude Simonet will step down as president of the French Federation today. He will almost certainly be replaced by Jean-Pierre Escalettes, who previously chaired the amateur section of the Federation.
l Rangers have promoted Martin Bain to the post of chief executive. Bain, who joined the club's board four years ago, steps up from the position of director of football business.
