Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.COLIN LEE, the Wolves manager, remained upbeat after yesterday's draw against West Bromwich that could prove costly in his side's scramble for a play-off place.
The game seemed to be there for the winning for Wolves against opponents who have little to play for. They ended their neighbours' run of three successive victories in this Midlands derby with a 1-1 draw, but it was Albion who were more satisfied with the outcome.
"We're disappointed with not getting three points," Lee said. "In the second half, I thought we played very well and pinned them in their own half. But it wasn't to be."
Albion struck first in the 18th minute from their only shot of the first half. A hopeful cross from the right by the First Division's leading scorer, Lee Hughes, found a gap in the centre of Wolves' defence and Micky Evans controlled the ball before tucking it home from eight yards.
Carl Robinson equalised in the 37th minute when he appeared unseen at the far post to score with a left-footed shot from a curling free-kick by Paul Simpson.
Wolves missed a chance to move three points clear of seventh-placed Watford, as well as go above Bolton, when their captain, Keith Curle, blazed a 55th-minute penalty over the bar after Kevin Kilbane was adjudged to have held back Kevin Muscat on a run into the area. It was the former England defender's second miss from the penalty spot this season.
