Derby County were beaten 1-0 at home yesterday by a late goal from Oxford United's John Durnin against the run of play. A succession of Derby attempts had been heroically foiled by Paul Reece, the Oxford goalkeeper who was unemployed only a fortnight ago.

Bradford beat Burnley yesterday despite having Lee Duxbury sent off for a foul after just four minutes. Gary Williams scored the only goal and Burnley's Mike Conroy had a penalty saved.
