ERIC CANTONA will captain Manchester United in tonight's testimonial match for the Munich air disaster.

The Frenchman, who helped the club win the Premiership title four times during his five seasons at Old Trafford, flew back to Manchester yesterday for the first time since his shock retirement last summer. He will be in charge against a side made up of his friends from football for a game which marks the 40th anniversary of the crash.

Cantona last played for the club at Coventry 17 months ago in the David Busst Testimonial. His last appearance at Old Trafford was in the closing game of the 1997 championship-winning campaign a week earlier.

The game was originally scheduled for February to coincide with the date of the disaster, but the game was postponed because of an FA Cup replay.

Bryan Robson will lead the opposition, which includes the French striker Jean-Pierre Papin, as well as the former Old Trafford players Lee Sharpe, Paul Ince, Mark Hughes and Andrei Kanchelskis.
