BENFICA came back from two goals down to draw 4-4 with Bayer Leverkusen and advance 5-5 on away goals in their Cup-Winners' Cup quarter-
final. They scored two goals in as many minutes to pull back to 2-2
after 58 minutes and then went ahead with Vassili Kulkov's second goal in the 78th minute.
Two quick goals by Ulf Kirsten, his second, and Pavel Hapal put the home side 4-3 ahead. But with four minutes remaining Kulkov finished off a counter-attack that put Benfica through.
A 51st-minute equaliser ensured Paris Saint-Germain also reached the semi-finals. After Emilio Butragueno put Real Madrid 1-0 up, Ricardo scored from a corner to put the French side through 2-1 on aggregate.
