Michael Doohan, the world champion, overcame his dislike for the twisting Assen track to take his fourth successive win of the season at the Dutch 500cc Grand Prix on Saturday. The Australian twice edged out Alex Criville, his Spanish team-mate, after the race was split in two when fears of a heavy downpour caused officials to call a halt after eight laps. After the second part of the race officials decided to combine the times of the first eight laps and the remaining 12.
