Defending champion Ken Doherty made a superb comeback yesterday to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 6-5 in the semi-finals of the Regal Masters in Motherwell. Doherty recovered from deficits of 3-1, 4-3 and 5-4 and then trailed 50-36 in the decider. He then fouled on the final red, though referee Peter Ranaldi failed to call a miss. O'Sullivan, however, failed to pot the red, and never returned to the table as Doherty cleared through to the pink.
