Sachin Tendulkar today passed the 17,000-run mark in one-day international cricket during the fifth ODI against Australia.
Tendulkar completed the formality today, heading in to bat needing just seven runs to pass the milestone.
A packed Rajiv Gandhi Stadium erupted in jubilation as the Indian batsman attained the mark.
Tendulkar had been forced to wait after he was dismissed for 40 in the fourth ODI against Australia in Mohali, but took little time in completing the feat today.
The 36-year-old has hit 44 one-day hundreds and 91 ODI fifties.
