England seamer Ryan Sidebottom has been ruled out of the final match of the one-day series against Bangladesh and will be reassessed ahead of the Test leg of the tour.

Sidebottom hurt his right thigh in the first ODI on Sunday and was replaced for today's second match by spinner James Tredwell.

He has no chance of being fit for duty in the series finale in Chittagong but England medical staff will check on the Nottinghamshire left-armer before the start of two-match Test series.

An England and Wales Cricket Board spokesman said: "Ryan sustained an injury to his right thigh in Sunday's game which led him to be ruled out for the one-day series.

"He will be reassessed over the coming days to determine his availability for the Test series."

England have Liam Plunkett and Ajmal Shahzad in reserve for the third ODI, while the attack will be bolstered by Durham paceman Graham Onions for the longer format.
