Hampshire's Michael Lumb has become English cricket's latest Indian Premier League signing after agreeing a deal with Rajasthan Royals.
Eoin Morgan was the only England-qualified player to be bought in Tuesday's auction, but Lumb was signed afterwards in a deal reportedly worth £30,000. Non-internationals can be signed outside of the auction and Lumb's former Hampshire captain Shane Warne, the Royals captain and coach, opted to add the 29-year-old to his roster.
In Chittagong, a fifth century in five Tests from Gautam Gambhir left India on top in the first Test against Bangladesh. Gambhir hit 116 as India declared their second innings at 413 for 8. The hosts ended the day on 67 for 2, needing 348 for an improbable win.
