Your support makes all the difference.Leicestershire edged a little closer to clinching the Norwich Union League title last night when rain forced the abandonment of their floodlit match against Warwickshire after only 3.5 overs had been bowled.
The two points they pick up as a result puts them four ahead of Kent, who have a match in hand but must avoid losing to Northamptonshire on Sunday to stay in the race. Kent would then go into their final game against Warwickshire on 16 September with a chance of the title, although if Leicestershire won at Trent Bridge on the same day the title would be theirs.
Last night's decision by the umpires, Peter Willey and John Holder, reprieved Leicestershire after a shaky start in which they had slipped to 9 for 2. Trevor Ward was bowled by seamer Charlie Dagnall and Shahid Afridi was caught behind off Dougie Brown.
