From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. A pitch invader was stopped from entering the field of play in the World Cup 2019 final at Lord’s between England and New Zealand.

YouTube prankster Vitaly Zdorovetskiy’s girlfriend made headlines with her pitch invasion during the Champions League final, and now his mum has attempted to do the same in the cricket.

Wearing clothing that contained the words “Vitaly Uncensored”, the pitch invader was stopped from entering the field of play by stewards after she ran over the barrier in front of the stands.

Wolanksi’s stunt in the Champions League final was said to be worth £3.8m in advertising the Russian-American company Vitaly.

Vitaly tweeted: ”My mom just tried to Streak The Cricket World Cup,” and added: “My mom is crazy!!!!!” in a separate Tweet.

Wolanski added: “MOST BAD A** MOM EVER”

2015 beaten finalists New Zealand chose to bat after winning the toss and brought up 100 in the 22nd over.
