MUSHTAQ AHMED makes his first appearance of the season for Somerset in the Benson and Hedges Cup derby against Gloucestershire at Bristol today.

The Pakistan leg spinner, who arrived back in England on Friday after his country's tour to South Africa, is added to the 11 players who are on duty for the county's win over British Universities last Thursday.

The Leicestershire all-rounder Vince Wells is set to play his first game of the season against Warwickshire in the Benson and Hedges Cup group game at Grace Road.

A flu virus kept Wells out of the County Championship and AXA League games with Worcestershire and he also missed the two cup matches against Lancashire and Nottinghamsire, but he is named in the squad for the match against Warwickshire and is expected to play. Aftab Habib will have a fitness test after splitting a finger while fielding in Saturday's victory over Nottinghamshire's at Trent Bridge.

The Warwickshire paceman Gladstone Small will have a fitness test before the game. The former England bowler picked up a slight hamstring injury as Warwickshire registered a second successive win in the competition against Northamptonshire on Friday. If Small is fit, the Warwickshire captain, Brian Lara, will have an unchanged squad of 13 players available.
