The West Indies brushed up their image in the final match of their tour of Sri Lanka by winning a rain-restricted limited- over contest in Colombo with five balls to spare to square the series at 1-1 with one match rained off. West Indies restricted Sri Lanka to 103 for 5 off 23 overs after Richie Richardson had won the toss. Keith Arthurton was named man of the match for his unbeaten 24. New Zealand coasted to a four-wicket victory over South Africa in a World Series Cup match in Hobart, Tasmania, after dismissing Kepler Wessels's side for 147.
