South Africa opens its new academy this week in an attempt to develop players along lines pioneered by Australia. The first members of the new academy gather at Rand Afrikaans University today, with the project officially opening on Thursday. Clive Rice, the former South African captain who is in charge, said: "Every aspect of the game will be catered for and we will be looking particularly at the psychological and physiological make-up of the players."
