Aravinda de Silva ended his Test run drought with a timely 79 not out to lead a Sri Lanka fightback against Pakistan on the fourth day of the first Test yesterday. De Silva and his captain Arjuna Ranatunga, who struck 58, shared a third-wicket partnership of 129, and Sri Lanka ended the penultimate day on 206 for 3 in their second innings for a lead of 158.
