Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

The Lions rugby union team go to New Zealand this summer aiming to avenge their 4-0 defeat in their last Test series there 10 years ago - and you could be there to watch them. Answer correctly today's three questions and three more tomorrow and you could win a trip for two to watch five Lions matches, including two Tests.

Our competition is organised in association with Bell's Scotch Whisky - 'The Spirit of the Game'. With a full spicy flavour and nutty aroma, Bell's is a blend of more than 35 different single malts and grown whiskies from the Scottish Highlands, Islands and Lowlands.

The two winners of our competition will fly to New Zealand on 16 June and return on 4 July. The prize includes match tickets for the Tests in Wellington and Auckland and for the games against Auckland, Hawkes Bay and Waikato, plus tickets for pre-match and post-match functions and an end-of-tour banquet.

The prize also includes excursions to the Rotorua thermal reserve, the Wairakei Geothermal Park and Lake Taupo for a half-day fishing trip, and tickets for a traditional Maori concert and 'Hangi' meal. All flights and accommodation are included, as well as pounds 800 spending money.
