The funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales, will have a major impact on sport this weekend, with Saturday's programme virtually cancelled.

Football

Postponed: Nationwide League (where possible games switched to Friday, Sunday, or next week); League of Wales; GM Vauxhall Conference; FA Vase first qualifying round.

England's World Cup qualifier against Moldova at Wembley next Wednesday's will go-head. Decision on Scotland's home game against Belarus on Saturday will be made today.

Rugby Union

All English and Wales league fixtures on Saturday postponed and rearranged for the following day where possible. All Heineken Cup and European Conference games involving UK clubs postponed (also includes games on Friday). Clubs to play Sunday where possible.

Allied Dunbar Premiership match Saracens v Richmond postponed last Sunday rearranged for 8 October.

Cricket

NatWest Trophy final between Essex and Warwickshire at Lord's moved from Saturday to Sunday. Spectators unable to attend will be given refunds.

Rugby League

Premiership preliminary match between Leeds and Oldham postponed. All Barla games postponed.

Speedway

Knockout Cup final between Eastbourne and Poole put back 24 hours to Sunday along with rest of programme.

Equestrianism

Blenheim International Horse Trials: The palace will be closed on Saturday with the cross-country section of three-day event moved to Sunday and the showjumping to Monday.

Racing

Saturday's five meetings at Haydock, Epsom, Thirsk, Wolverhampton and Stratford cancelled. The Tote's High Street betting shops will be closed. A decision on Ireland's Fairyhouse meeting will be made today.

Motor racing

Qualifying for British Touring Car Championship and supporting events at Brands Hatch abandoned. Grid position for Sunday's races determined by driver's place in standings.

Boxing

World Boxing Council super-middleweight title fight between Robin Reid and Hassine Cherifi rearranged for 11 September at Kingsway Leisure Centre, Widnes.

Ice Hockey

Eight matches in Autumn Cup and Benson & Hedges Cup postponed.
