Ronnie O'Sullivan defeated Stephen Hendry, the man who has won the Benson and Hedges Masters six times, 6-4 last night at Wembley to reach the semi- finals. It was only the Scots' third defeat in 32 matches in the sport's premier invitation tournament since his debut in 1989.
When Hendry established a 3-1 lead at the mid-session interval with breaks of 64 in the first frame, 60 in the third and 76 in the fourth, he was on course to repeat his success against O'Sullivan in last year's final.
But in frame five O'Sullivan missed a red from distance, split the pack far and outrageously fluked another red into a top pocket."That was a definite turning point but there's no way I'm complaining," Hendry said.
