Retired four-time super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch has looked ahead to Saturday night's big heavyweight showdown between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury, and says that while he predicts a Klitschko victory, he has certainly given fellow Brit Fury a chance.

The fight will be the unbeaten Fury's first world title fight, as he aims to take Klitschko's WBA, IBF and WBO titles.

Fury has not tasted defeated in his 24 bouts, though Klitschko has not lost in 11 years.

Speaking to The Independent, Froch says that the 6ft 9in Fury must "rough up" 39-year-old Klitschko, who could "show his age" in the fight in Dusseldorf.

"I think Klitschko is going to outbox Fury unfortunately, [but] I want Fury to win. I want Fury to do the business," Froch, who will be working as a pundit for Sky for the fight, said.

"I want him to put Fury under the cosh, lean on him, bully him. Rough him up.

"But I’m not too sure he has the experience at that level to cause an upset against Klitschko. Unless Klitschko gets old over night, which does happen with sportsmen. All of a sudden he could turn up to this fight and show his age.

"But I’m giving Fury a chance, he’s tall, he’s heavy, and he’s got some gob on him!

"Unfortuntely, and I say unfortunate because I hope Fury does the business, I think Klitschko wins on points."
