Your support makes all the difference.Boxing fans in the Espirit Arena in Dusseldorf were left waiting for Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury to appear in the ring after a backstage controversy led to a delay, but there was plenty to see in the ring as rock legend Rod Stewart performed for the 54,600 capacity stadium.
However, whether it be an audio issue or Stewart’s 70 years of age getting the better of him, the performance was somewhat disappointing.
In fact, you could hardly hear what Hot Rod was singing, and unsurprisingly the Highgate-born singer was completely slaughtered on Twitter.
Social media users were quick to question what they were being made to sit through just minutes before the bout, but ever the professional, Stewart powered through to complete his show.
The ear-bleeding performance led to many comparing Stewart with Fury’s habit of singing after his own victories, but the big British boxer was singing along to his own walk-out song before the fight in a show of complete comfort and calmness.
