Your support makes all the difference.Tyson Fury returns to the ring this weekend to take on burly undefeated German heavyweight Tom Schwarz in his Las Vegas debut at the MGM Grand.
Fury, who hasn’t fought since battling to a thrilling controversial draw with Deontay Wilder last December, will be making his EPSN debut after signing a lucrative co-promotional deal with US-based Top Rank.
The ‘Gypsy King’ has reportedly already agreed to face WBC champion Wilder in a rematch later this year but is wary of overlooking Schwarz after Anthony Joshua’s stunning defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr.
Schwarz has won 24 bouts, winning by knockout on 16 occasions, but has only ever fought in his native Germany and Czech Republic and neither has the punch power nor boxing ability to match Fury on the surface.
Here’s everything you need to know:
When and where is the fight?
The fight takes place on June 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
What time will the ring walks be?
As this one is in Vegas, expect it to be no earlier than 4.30am – possibly even 5am.
What TV channel will it be on?
The fight will be broadcast on BT Sport Box Office and is priced at £19.95 for UK viewers.
Are tickets still available?
Tickets are still available with prices ranging from $54 to $504 and can be purchased here.
Who is Tom Schwarz?
The 25-year-old Schwarz will be unfamiliar to most UK fight fans having fought in Germany for his entire career aside from two forays into the Czech Republic.
His most notable win came against Senad Gashi – who lost a drear decision to Dereck Chisora in April - and Schwarz actually appeared to struggle in that fight before his opponent was disqualified for persistent headbutts.
He is listed at 6’5” and usually weighs in around the 240lbs mark.
What’s at stake, what are their records?
No official title will be at stake but Fury will be protecting his lineal champion status which he claimed by defeating Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015.
Fury’s record stands at 27-0-1 while Tom Schwarz’s is 24-0-0, however, the former’s calibre of opponents have been of dramatically higher quality.
What is the full fight schedule?
Sullivan Barrera vs Jesse Hart (Light-heavyweight)
Mikaela Mayer vs Lizbeth Crespo (Lightweight)
The rest of the undercard remains to be officially confirmed.
Prediction
Fury should win this bout comfortably but may use the early rounds to test his leaner physique and exhibit his typically showman-like style before forcing a stoppage in the mid-to-late rounds.
Odds
Fury to win: 1/50
Schwarz to win: 14/1
Draw: 33/1
