From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Anthony Crolla is to fight Mexico's Edson Ramirez on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's world heavyweight unification title fight against Joseph Parker in Cardiff on March 31.
The 31-year-old continues his attempts to rebuild, following a victory over Ricky Burns and successive defeats by Jorge Linares, and his pursuit of another world lightweight title under the roof at the Principality Stadium.
"Eddie (Hearn, my promoter) and I met recently and we outlined a plan to get back to world titles and Cardiff is the first fight in that plan," said Crolla, from Manchester.
"I need to get out there and get another win and then we can look for a big fight in the summer. I'm always mixing at the top level so I want a test and Ramirez will be well up for it.
"We've had rough talks about a lot of fights. Luke Campbell and I both want to fight for world titles and I don't think either of us would have a problem in fighting the other, but the ultimate goal for us both is to win a world title. We're one and two in Britain so it makes sense so we'll see what happens down the line.
"I'm not targeting anyone in particular, I just want a world title shot: I'll take on any of the champions and go anywhere to do it."
