Price strikes at the end
The three-times English singles champion Mary Price snatched a last-gasp winner to steer Desborough Maidenhead through to the final of the Yetton Trophy at the women's All-England Indoor Championships in Southampton yesterday. Desborough led 60-45 after 15 ends but in an amazing fightback Lincoln took a 74-70 lead with two ends to play. At the penultimate end, Val Linton-Phare scored a four against Pat Prisk to bring Desborough level at 74-74. And at the deciding end, Price grabbed a single against Kath Mould to take Desborough through 75-74. In the other semi-final, the defending champions, Egham of Surrey, cruised through with a 95-67 victory over Clevedon.
