Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Jurgen Klopp has a second shot at claiming a trophy in his first season in charge of Liverpool but one huge hurdle remains in the form of a side who have earned a reputation as Europa League specialists.
Sevilla are bidding to become the first team to win the competition for a record third-straight time but they have won just two of their last 10 games in all competitions and could not manage a single away win in La Liga this season. Liverpool, meanwhile, have lost just two of their last 13 matches and will be eager to avoid further final disappointment after losing the Capital One Cup showdown in March.
BetVictor make Klopp’s side 11-8 favourites to triumph over 90 minutes, while the Spaniards are 9-4.
Roberto Firmino stands out at 8-1 to be man of the match after his performance in the semi-final at Anfield. The Brazilian striker has scored just once in the competition this season but 10 Premier League goals – nine of which have come since the turn of the year – show that he is a threat up front and BetVictor make him 11-5 to score at any time.
Sevilla’s main goal threat is Kevin Gameiro, who has bagged 24 goals from 44 appearances this season, and he can be backed at 11-2 to break the deadlock.
A £5 bet on the final will give you a shot at winning £1,000,000. That is the huge prize BetVictor are offering to the customer who correctly predicts – or is closest to predicting – the minute and scorer of the opening goal of the Euro 2016 final.
You can earn your first prediction by placing a £5 qualifying bet on the Europa League showdown. After that, you will be able to make a further prediction every time you place five qualifying bets during the tournament in France.
You can make your predictions for The Million Pound Goal any time after the conclusion of the second Euro 2016 semi-final on July 7, up until the final kicks-off. Terms and conditions apply
