The London Leopards are on course for the third trophy of a hugely successful British basketball campaign after last night's tense victory over the underdogs the Chester Jets in the semi-final of the Wembley Championships, writes Ian Whittell. The Londoners, already winners of the League and National Cup, prevailed in over-time 102-101 with their customary brand of brilliant individual performance and physical play. Eric Burks was magnificent as he scored 33 of his team-high 39 points in the first three periods. He was also instrumental in a 13-2 Leopards' run late in the fourth quarter that put his team in the driving seat. In today's final they will face their local rivals, the London Towers, who made easy meat of the Sheffield Sharks in an 80-72 win.
