Germany beat England 88-67 in Rostock last night in the eighth round of their European Championship semi-final round group. England's seventh defeat was sealed after Germany outscored them 10-2 to open a 46-32 half time lead. Spencer Dunkley led England's scorers with 14 points while Steve Bucknall and Roger Huggins scored 13 each.

Four active coaches, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Lenny Wilkens and Bill Fitch, have been included in the list of the 10 best coaches in National Basketball Association history, released as part of the league's 50th anniversary celebration.
