World and European records in both the women's pole vault and hammer throw will be recognised from the end of 1994, the president of the European Athletics Association (EAA), Carl-Olaf Homen, announced in Copenhagen yesterday. Both events are to be included in the programme for the European Athletics Championships at Budapest in 1998.
