Branston Abby will take on Lake Coniston at Haydock on Saturday after registering the 18th success of her career at York yesterday. The six-year-old mare was taking her win and place earnings to pounds 190,000.

She was cut to 12-1 by Ladbroke and William Hill for Saturday's Group One sprint and is also a possible for the Ayr Gold Cup on 16 September, for which the sponsors, Ladbroke, quote 14-1. A 7lb penalty for this success takes her weight up to 9st 12lb.
