From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Children's favorite Lego remained as popular as ever in 2009, the company said March 4.

Lego, which is sold around the world, grew more popular in nearly all of its markets. The toy was most popular in English-speaking markets, followed by European and Asian locations.

Lego City and the Lego Star Wars products were the most popular toys in 2009, according to the firm.

Many of the Lego board games that British and German families could play starting in 2009 will be going global this year. Ten new titles will hit shelves in the US during 2010, Lego confirmed, and several products will be rolled out to the rest of Europe.

Lego, which makes the LEGO, DUPLO and LEGO Technic toys, is one of the world's best-known brands. It has spawned a global empire of spinoffs, ranging from the Legoland amusement parks and a computer games franchise.

The firm plans to release the LEGO Harry Potter video game on May 28, followed by LEGO Universe, a "massively multiplayer online" (MMO) game this summer.
