Villagers in Petchabun province, central Thailand, are demanding that the local authorities give back a meteorite around which they had built a bamboo altar and gathered to pray for good fortune, AP reports from Bangkok.
A 55-year-old woman on whose land the meteorite crashed has shut herself in a room and stopped eating and talking since the governor seized it last Thursday, claiming that objects falling from the sky were government property.
