Italy's Senate yesterday approved funding to repair the Uffizi art gallery, badly damaged by a car bomb in Florence last month. The upper house approved a bill setting aside 30bn lire (pounds 13.6m) to help rebuild the Uffizi and two other historic buildings, Reuter reports from Rome. The bill is expected to be approved by the lower house soon.
