Nazran, Russia - Ingush officials said yesterday they had reached an agreement with the Russian military on the withdrawal of troops from their tiny republic, which borders the breakaway Chechnya. Fighting has spread to Ingushetia in recent days, causing casualties and alarming the Ingush leadership, which has been trying to keep the republic out of the Chechen war. President Ruslan Aushev said the agreement was reached in talks with Lieutenant General Gennady Troshev, whose units had shelled the mountain village of Arshty for the past three days. AP
