Russia's Supreme Court ruled that 12 alleged leaders of the August 1991 coup against Mikhail Gorbachev should face a new trial despite a parliamentary amnesty, Reuter reports from Moscow. The decision followed a protest by the Prosecutor-General's office against the dropping of the case.
