Romania's Chief Rabbi, Moses Rosen, who helped hundreds of thousands of Jews flee Communist oppression and settle in Israel, died of a heart attack aged 81, Reuter reports from Bucharest. Rosen, one of the most colourful religious leaders in Eastern Europe, died of heart failure following a heavy stroke three weeks ago.
