Vatican City - The Pope yesterday issued an updated code for electing Popes, introducing modern comforts for cardinals and reaffirming rules against electronic bugging and cellular phones to safeguard the conclave's secrecy. In his new apostolic constitution, the Pope reaffirmed that cardinals aged 80 and older may not enter a conclave to elect a Pope. A Vatican official said he did not know if the traditional way of telling the world of the election of a new Pope - white smoke from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel - would be maintained. Reuter
