Brisbane (Reuter) - An Australian police commissioner booked himself for jaywalking after being shown on television breaking the rules for crossing a road.
A news programme showed film of Noel Newnham, who is the police commissioner of the state of Queensland, crossing a road illegally near police headquarters in Brisbane, the capital, on 29 June.
Commissioner Newnham said that after seeing the television broadcast and on the advice of another senior officer he had issued himself with a ticket for jaywalking and had paid a fine of 5 Australian dollars ( pounds 2).
