Peking - China yesterday suspended talks with the United States on controlling missile technology and co-operation on nuclear energy, and postponed visits by US officials. The moves were its strongest retaliation yet after Washington gave the go-ahead for a private visit by Taiwan's President Lee Teng-hui. China had decided to postpone Sino-US expert talks on the global Missile Technology Control Regime and on nuclear energy co-operation, a Foreign Ministry spokesman announced. Reuter
