Nominee fined
LITTLE ROCK (AP) - The US attorney-general nominee, Zoe Baird, and her husband yesterday paid a dollars 2,900 ( pounds 1,900) fine for employing illegal aliens in their home, a Clinton transition spokesman said. The communications director, George Stephanopoulos said, 'We are pleased the matter is now resolved.' He said Mr Clinton had 'complete confidence in Zoe Baird, whose disclosures in this matter have been forthright from the beginning. And he looks forward to her confirmation and service as attorney- general of the United States'.
