Your support makes all the difference.Iran has asked Germany to arrest and extradite former President Abolhassan Bani-Sadr, who testified at a Berlin trial that the Tehran regime organised the murders of opponents abroad, the federal justice ministry said. Mr Bani-Sadr, who lives outside Paris, is scheduled to give more testimony at the trial on 5 September. He testified last week that he was told by sources in Iran that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei signed an order to assassinate a Kurdish leader who was gunned down with three aides in a Berlin restaurant in 1992.
The extradition request cited charges of hijacking a plane, apparently a reference to Mr Bani-Sadr's 1981 flight to exile in France. German officials said there was little chance they would comply. In Tehran, however, foreign ministry officials denied that Iran had made an extradition request. Germany - AP
