Two British soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb as they patrolled in their armored vehicle near the southern Iraqi city of Basra on Saturday night, the Ministry of Defense said. A third soldier was injured.
The ministry said the attack happened at 11.45 p.m. Iraqi time on Saturday while the soldiers carried out a routine patrol north of Basra. All three soldiers were from the Royal Anglian Regiment. A British helicopter recovered the men, who were taken to a military hospital.
