Libya overture

Cairo - Libya has asked Britain to restore diplomatic relations that were broken 12 years ago after a shooting in London, according the official Libyan news agency.

Libya's foreign ministry made the request in a message to the Italian Embassy in Tripoli, which handles British interests in the country. AP
