Tehran -- Doctors can no longer save the life of the critically- ill Ahmad Khomeini, son of the late founder of the Islamic republic Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, his chief doctor said yesterday.
Dr Hassan Arefi, who is the head of Mr Khomeini's medical team, told Iranian state television that the fate of Mr Khomeini, 50, was "now in the hands of God" and called on Iranians to "pray for his recovery." Dr Arefi said that 99.5 percent of Mr Khomeini's brain had ceased to function. Doctors could do nothing more to save him. AFP
