Addis Ababa - The trial of the Ethiopian former dictator Mengistu Haile Mariam and aides accused of genocide and other atrocities resumed after a suspension of two months but was immediately adjourned until 10 October. Colonel Mengistu is being tried in his absence, since he fled to exile in Zimbabwe after his ousting by rebel armies in May 1991. AFP
