Paris - France has turned down a request from Sweden to allow homosexual couples take romantic trips to Paris to be wed in the Swedish consulate there, the Swedish embassy said. Sweden, which has allowed gay couples to be wed in a ceremony similar to a civil marriage since January 1995, asked France to let it stage the weddings in its Paris consulate, where about six heterosexual couples are married every month.
