Thorny issue
Nicosia (Reuter) - A Cypriot court dismissed a breach of copyright suit against the Italian writer Umberto Eco yesterday, saying his book The Name of the Rose bore little resemblance to a novel by a Cypriot writer, Costas Socratous. Socratous sued the Greek and Italian publishers of Eco's book for alleged infringement of his rights to his novel O Aforismenos (The Excommunicated).
