A Dutch teenager has died while bungee jumping from a bridge during a holiday in Spain.

The 17-year-old girl was killed when she jumped from a viaduct near Santander in the north of the country. She hit the wall of a bridge below and died at the scene.

It comes after British student Kleyo De Abreu died while bungee jumping from a bridge in Spain when she hit a second bridge below.

Two men from the bungee jump company have been charged with manslaughter in connection with Ms De Abreu’s death.

The BBC reports that the Dutch teenager, who has not been named, was with a group of people from the Netherlands and Belgium who were staying at a local surf camp.

They were taking part in a type of bungee jumping called “puenting”; which involves diving and then swinging beneath a bridge.

It is understood that medics attempted to revive her but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
